Call 1-800-864-7208 with the information for each sail which includes the manufacturer, part number, and any checklist information for each color, bag, and cloth (if applicable).

We pay the basic UPS ground shipping on all sail orders. Additional charge for express or to have the sails shipped rolled. Sails are generally ordered to be shipped direct to you from the sailmaker.

All of the sails we handle are made of top quality material by USA sailmakers who are committed to the Flying Scot class. There are quite a few decisions to be made when ordering sails. We have provided the check lists below to help you with some of these decisions. If you have any remaining questions, please call.

Schurr sails check list:

Schurr provides top quality sails at an outstanding price. Decide on the type of sailing you will be doing. If you plan to daysail, the soft cloth is more durable from a wear standpoint and easier to get rolled or folded. For racing, the lighter firm finish cloth will hold its racing shape longer than the soft cloth, but will have an overall shorter useful life with more rips and tears.

  • 5.0 oz. Daysailing cloth - soft
  • 4.4 oz. Racing cloth – firm

Color for mainsail number and insignia:

  • red
  • blue
  • black
  • green

Sail bag type:

  • fold bags (to be used with the battens removed from the main and the sails folded )
  • roll bags (long thin bags to be used when sails are rolled up like a window blind – battens may be left inserted)
F.S.S.A. measurement certificates are not included in the Schurr sails prices. Please add $20 per sail.

You can build your sail order for the main and jib from here using the options listed on our price sheet. For daysailing, we recommend the soft cloth with a vision window in the jib and perhaps reef points in the main. For racing, we recommend the firm cloth with a shelf foot in the main and radial patches and vision windows in both the main and jib. Most people who race also use the roll bags to minimize wrinkles.
